Winter may be a never-ending, frigid slog. Fortunately, nothing beats a classic beverage like hot buttered rum to lift your spirits this time of year.

This hot buttered rum recipe is incredibly easy to make and can be used to make one or two drinks on the fly. If you're a huge lover of the cocktail or want to serve it at a party, you can create a big amount ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator, leaving you with nothing to do but pour, stir, and sip.

Ingredients

Directions:

Using an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth. Transfer the mixture to a 4-cup (or larger) measuring cup. Add the rum and then 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until the butter mixture dissolves. Divide the buttered rum among 4 mugs. Garnish with the cinnamon sticks and serve.
